Our history<\/a><\/h2>

Faith and Light was born of a desire to help people with an intellectual disability and their families find their place within the Church and society. This was the main purpose of the organized pilgrimage to Lourdes at Easter of 1971.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Faith and Light emblem<\/a><\/h2>

Meb was a painter, he had an intellectual disability. He composed his work of art on the occasion of the first pilgrimage to Lourdes in 1971 after someone read him the Charter of the first Faith and Light pilgrimage.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Dear members of the Faith and Light communities around the world,\n\nI am pleased to share with you a new update of the international Faith and Light logo, which becomes more modern and dynamic while keeping the spirit of the original emblem painted by MEB, a young man with Down's syndrome who participated in the Lourdes pilgrimage in 1971.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Charter and Constitution<\/a><\/h2>

The structures of Faith and Light are like the sap that flows through a large tree to keep it alive, to help it to grow, flower and produce fruit. The Charter is like the heart of Faith and Light, its inspiration.
